What causes the yellow color of diamonds?

Hello. I'm Sakurako, a staff member at ERIDA ELDA.
Today we'll talk about diamond color.

Natural diamonds: · Because they contain impurities, most diamonds are yellow · The degree of color is divided into grades from D to Z · DEF: colorless, GHIJ: nearly colorless, KLM: slightly colored

We will explain how yellow "almost colorless" and "slightly colored" actually are.

First, there is the K color, which has a "slight color tinge," and then the L color, which is actually yellow.
Even when attached to gold bullion, anyone can see the yellowish tint.

Next is GHIJ, "Almost Colorless."
Color is affected by cut, size, and fluorescence, but typically a stone will appear colorless up to J color, which is the boundary between colorless and yellow.

・J color is on the border between colorless and yellow ・If the grade is higher than I color, it appears colorless ・If the grade is lower than K color, it appears yellow

In terms of price difference, I color is about 30% cheaper than D color.
If a D-color single diamond ring costs 500,000 yen, an I-color single diamond ring costs around 350,000 yen (same quality apart from color).

"If you're going to buy one, you should go for the highest quality D color."

"If it looks the same, I'll go with the I color. I'd like to buy something else for the difference of 150,000 yen."

I think both are viable choices.
By the way, the video below is of an I color diamond.
